Well its an exciting day in Carluke High. Today is our Micro-Tyco Bake Sale.

With so many teams wanting to sell home baking we decided to create one massive sale for staff and pupils at lunchtime. Teams not only have to think about what items to make and sell but also how best to price their goods so that their team sells more than the others. Fingers crossed for some friendly competition.

Another great idea. Who had the best baking sales pitch? And who had the best products? Interesting to find out if that was the same team!

That was such a buzz. The kids were great and even managed to haggle when they didn't get the sales. I'll find out tomorrow morning how the sales went but I think the teams with the best sales pitch will have won the day :o)

Will let you know!

Only two teams haven't returned their totals for yesterday's bake sale. It looks like the team with the best sales pitch did indeed make the most money. They didn't have the prettiest looking cakes on offer (they definitely tasted great) but they hooked in their customers with multi-buy deals. They made more than twice the amount of most of the other teams.

Also I've found that the buzz of the event seems has renewed the teams' enthusiasm for the challenge. The competition seems to have reminded them what they're working towards. Here's hoping the final two weeks will be as productive as the first.

Stop Press:

The highest earning team wasn't the one with the best sales pitch ...It was the team who split their team and baking and sold in two locations. Divide and conquer!!
